Elaine Young, Principal
Elaine Young is the Founder and Principal of EK Young & Associates, LLC, an accounting and finance placement firm. Elaine has a strong recruiting background, including candidate sourcing and screening and compensation setting.
Prior to establishing EK Young & Associates, Elaine was a recruiter at Tatum, a Randstad company, where she filled numerous roles mainly in the finance area. Before joining Tatum, Elaine was a consultant at Apollo Global Management. While at Apollo, she worked on a variety of initiatives, including recruiting, compensation plan redesign, compensation benchmarking, performance reviews and the development of a new hire approval process and monthly headcount reporting package. Prior to Apollo, Elaine spent 15 years at Goldman Sachs, where she initially began her tenure in accounting and then moved into human resource roles. Elaine was a Vice President within the Human Capital Management Division, mainly supporting Investment Management which included Private Wealth Management and Asset Management. She was responsible for Global Recruiting for Investment Management and for the Generalist functions. In her recruiting role, she oversaw both lateral hiring and campus recruiting. The lateral recruiting effort included the build out of the Asset Management business and Goldman’s Private Wealth Advisor lateral hiring initiative. Elaine was also part of the Global Employee Relations team for a year, where she was Chief of Staff.
While at Goldman, Elaine was chosen for a nine-month management training program designed to promote the future leaders of the firm. Early in her career, she was selected to participate in the Controllers Woman in Leadership group, aimed at helping female professionals succeed and advance in leadership roles.
After graduating from Lehigh University with a BS in Accounting, Elaine began her career at KPMG Peat Marwick in New York as an auditor. Elaine was a Certified Public Accountant before transitioning into recruiting.
